Just took the kids to swimming lessons (ug! chlorine and too many people), then saw this; (via Mary & Matt)
Leon Kossoff, London painter, art school favorite, painted a series of swimming pool painting between 1969 and 1972. Inspired by taking his son to swimming lessons, he captured the thickness of mid summer, noisy, bored kids, stingy eyes and the smell of chlorine.
